Dreadful Dragon

© duchy/Shutterstock.comThe formidable Komodo Dragon is the largest lizard in the world.  Growing up to ten feet long, and weighing as much as 150 pounds, they are thought to be a descendant, or relict, of a large species of monitor lizard that died out around 3.5 million years ago.  Komodo Dragons are only found on a few Indonesian Islands including Flores and its namesake, Komodo.
